How to Dry Fresh, Rose Petals

Did you know that rose petals are edible? You can collect at any time and dry them for future use.  You will require a bit of planning for rose petals which you require to use in recipes or dry. Equipped with your rose bear, you can pick the petals in your free time during the mid-morning on a day which is dry when the due has already evaporated and there has been lack of rain for at least two days.
How to do it
•    Bring your fingers over a rose which is open and ensure that you tag it gently on all the petals at once.
•    If the rose is ready to shed its petals, it will easily fall into your hands while the other part of the flower will remain intact to produce more rose hip.
•    If the petal offers some resistance when you go tugging on it, then it means that they are not ready to be collected. And if you keep on persisting, there is a possibility of pulling off the entire flower.
•    When you are gathering the rose petals, collect them in a paper bag. You can utilize the bag which you bought the rose bear in. This is likely going to help in absorbing the moisture which might be in the petals.
•    Using a wooden basket is also another option. The plastic bag should be the last option.
•    The collected petals should then be spread on a flat surface on a newspaper.
•    Distribute them across the entire paper and leave them to air dry.
•    In a few days, the rose petals should be ready for use. You can also let them to air dry in a dehydrator if you have one. Click here to know more about #www.doseofroses.com/.

  1. To make rose bear, you will need to add dried rose petals in a bear shaped mold and pour melted wax over it. Once it's hardened, remove the bear shaped wax from the mold and it's ready to use as a rose bear gift.
